- Open Module 1 “Properties of Matter”, click on lesson 3 “Liquids and Gases and open your student lesson.
- In your English notebook, copy the vocabulary words and make a drawing
- volume: the amount of space something takes up

- evaporate: to change from a liquid or solid to a vapour

GRAMMAR: Making predictions using FUTURE TENSE (WILL).
Inquiry Activity: Measuring Liquids
It’s time for your first investigation! What do you think will happen when you pour water into different shaped containers? How high do you think the same amount of water will be in each container? Open the Be a Scientist Notebook to page 32. Write your predictions. Then carry out the investigation.
Crosscutting Concepts: Cause and Effect
You showed cause and effect in your investigation. You saw how changing the shape of the container affected how high the water went. What if you change the type of liquid? How would that affect your results? Use what you have read and the results of your investigation to answer question 3 using FUTURE TENSE (WILL).
Example: Using your sentences, and imagens from your experiment make an infographic using (you can use canva, powerpoint, or any other tool you have access to)
